I thought before even reading the article it was clever how
the title was “Toughest exam question: What is the best way to study” Because
for me growing up, finding a good way to study was hard and critical for my
success in the class. School and class rooms were not my strong suites. In the
article they focus on memory which was what work probably the best was for me. In
the article they have this idea of repetition in testing yourself with pre-test
and information before the test. In my personal experience I found that I have
had great success in studying flash cards of information rather then reviewing
the information in bulk. So there is some truth to this, however I found that
in the second part of this article that they said that studying with music
playing was a bad idea. I think this can be wrong. I think it depends what type
of music you listen to. I feel like when you listen to music with lyrics yes it
could affect your recall latter on. But I also feel like if you listen to music
without lyrics then it doesn’t affect you and you can recall it latter on.
